Ella-marie is my second child. I was delighted at 20 weeks to discover that i was having a girl,
however this was short lived as i also discovered that my baby had hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
Many scans followed where we found out that it was a particularly bad case of this already serious
condition. I also developed polyhydraminos needing nearly two litres of amnio reduction, this was
also a sign there was other problems. This proved to be true as we later found out that my precious
little girl had oesophageal atresia and a tracheoesophageal fistula. All these problems individually
would have needed pretty imminent operations however altogether the prognosis proved not to be a
good one at all. This being when me and carl her dad decided to keep her comfortable and spend
whatever precious time with her but let her go in her own time. However even the consultants did not
expect it to be so soon. Just nine hours old.
Even with all this i still gained a lot from my tiny angels short life. I loved feeling her wriggle
around in my tummy all day, she was so active with all that fluid to swim around in, i could grab
her foot when she kicked, or push her legs and feel her flip around in what i imagined to be
annoyance. lol. I had a wonderful labour getting to ten centimetres without any real pain till they
broke my waters. Then she was born. I got to hold her for a precious short time as she seemed in
reasonable health and i'll never forget her looking up at me. I am eternally grateful to my
little angel for everything she gave to me and can only repay her with all the love i have for her.
I thought of you and closed my eyes and prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a mother, and I know I heard him say.
A mother has a baby, this we know is true.
But God can you be a mother when your baby's not with you?
Yes, you can, he replied with confidence in his voice.
I give many women babies but when they leave is not their choice.
I just dont understand this God, I want my baby here.
He took a breath and cleared his throat, and then I saw a tear,
I wish I could show you, what your child is doing today.
I wish you could see your child smile, with other children and say...
'we go on earth to learn our lessons, of love life and fear.
My mummy loved me so very much, I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a mum, who had so much love for me.
I learnt my lessons very quickly, my mummy set me free,
I miss my mummy oh so much I visit her each day,
When she goes to sleep, on her pillows there I lay,
I stroke her hair I kiss her cheek. I whisper in her ear,
Mummy dont be sad today. I'm your baby and I'm here'
So you see dear sweet one, your children are okay,
Your babies are in my home and this is where they will stay.
They will wait for you with me, until your lessons are through.
And on the day that you'll come home, they'll be at the gates for you.
So you see what makes a mother its the feeling in your heart.
It's the one you had so much of, right from the very start.
Though some on earth may not realise, until their time is done,
Remember all the love you have, and know you are a special .....MUM.

My life is very busy,
There's lots of things to do.
But every day, in every way,
I always think of you xx.
I try to get on with it,
But there's always that something there.
That gaping hole inside my heart,
That's there because i care.
I miss you dearly all the time,
Though its sometimes hard to show.
There's other things i have to do when i want to sit and cry,
But i miss you and i love you, i miss you and i hope that this you know.
You're always here in our family,
The good days and the bad,
You always play a part with all of us
Through happy times and sad.
We wish we could all show you more,
Just how much we care.
But it's love that's at the core,
And we know that you are there.
We all feel you everyday, in everything we do.
You are a part of us after all,
But there's something else you must do.
Thats why you never stayed here.
That's why God took you home.
So i sit and shed a tear,
And feel so all alone.
But i have to get on,
With everything i have to do,
But there's something you must know,
That we all love you dearly.
Someday we'll be together again,

Our memories build a special bridge
When loved ones have to part.
To help us feel we're with them still

Our memories span the years we shared,

And I'm not there to see;

Our Lives changed, the very moment you passed away.
We couldn't stop it; there was nothing we could say.
You've touched our lives so deeply to a point you will never know,
We try to think about you when we are feeling down and low.
Sometimes when our day gets hard we will think about your beautiful smile
And if we listen hard enough we will hear your voice after a while.
It's you who give us a reason to go on with our day,
And now if we want to see you we'll bow our heads and pray.
We catch ourselves looking for you still, in the halls and at the front door,
But when we call your name there is no reply any more!
We never thought a day would come where we would be apart,
God has you in his keepings, we have you in our hearts.
Life will go on, but never will be the same,

If I Knew
If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.
There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance to say
our "Anything I can do?"
But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

missing you
God thankyou for my baby,
but i miss her very much.
She wasn't here for very long,
so thankyou for her touch.
She was a special baby,
she taught me such a lot.
She came and went quite quickly,
but will never be forgot.
I think of her each day,
through morning, noon and night.
Her pictures on my wall
are such a lovely sight.
I dont quite understand it,
how quick she came and went.
The pain of losing her cuts deep,
but God i'm glad that she was sent.
I think of her quite often,
and tears well in my eyes.
I think of how we said hello,
then said our sad goodbyes.
God thankyou for my baby,
for every second she was with me,
until she went away.
